As we expand and organise our future events, we are on the look out for new members of our amazing team.
All of the TEDxKingstonUponThames team are volunteers. We all do it for the love of TEDx Talks and organising awesome events in Kingston Upon Thames.
Roles we are currently looking to fill are:
Do you love TED? Do you love being in front of an audience? Do you have the sense of humour and personality to engage 900 people for an entire day?
TEDxKingstonUponThames are looking for a host for our flagship ‘Out of Order’ event on 20th January 2018 at Rose Theatre Kingston. This will be one of the largest TEDx events in London and we need a host to match the scale of the event.
As host you will be the glue between our awesome speakers. You will introduce them, engage with them after their talks and ensure a smooth transition from one speaker to the next. You’ll have the spontaneity to cope if things don’t go quite to plan and the dedication to attend our rehearsals and planning meetings.
You’ll be part of the team of volunteers delivering TEDx in Kingston out of a love of our local community and a passion for TED’s mission of ‘ideas worth spreading’.
If you’re interested, email our chairman Nicholas Rogers at [email protected] with a succinct note outlining your background and why you would like the role.
Marketing roles focus on reaching as many people as possible online and offline to sell event tickets, find sponsors, speakers and build a buzz around our events. On the day of the event, the Social Media Lead will live stream and tweet/Instagram the whole day, inspiring people to share far and wide.
Social Media Lead
PR, Communications and Editorial Lead
Production roles are focused on what happens on the TEDxKingstonUponThames stage, managing all elements of production such as staging, lighting and on-stage design. The production team will also work alongside our film crew and event photographers. These are great roles for people who have or have a desire to work in TV/film production or stage production.
Event Management Roles
Event management roles focus on all things off stage, inside the auditorium and front of house. These roles have the responsibility of making sure the event runs as smoothly as possible for all ticket holders
Front of House Lead
All of the above roles are for our biggest event yet ‘Out of Order’ at Rose Theatre Kingston on 20th January 2018. Every volunteer must be available all day on this date. The amount of time spent prior to the big day depends on each role.
Some of these roles could be combined to make a bigger role or split between a few people to ease the time commitment and work involved.
Please email Liam Rogers our Marketing and Event Manager by emailing [email protected] with some details of your experience and which roles you’d be interested in taking on.
